MV Christena Memorial Swim

MV Christena Memorial Swim is an 8.6 km memorial swim between Nevis and St Kitts in the West Indies in the Caribbean Sea that commemorates the MV Christena Disaster. The swim was established to honor the victims of the worst maritime disaster in the English-speaking Caribbean Sea. When the MV Christena went down off St Kitts, only 91 of the 320 people on board survived in 1971.

2020 Event[edit]

On 1 August 2020, Jane Hansom, Mary Parks, Valérie Grégoire and Geoff Folsom completed a 4-person tandem swim from the site of the MV Christena disaster to Pinneys Beach on Nevis.
