Chaudhry Abdul Aziz is a 30-year-old pool and open water swimmer from Lahore, Pakistan who specializes in breaststroke.

Swimming Career Highlights[edit]

  • Abdul Aziz is the Pakistan national record holder for the 50m and 100m breaststroke.
  • In 1998, at the age of 10, he participated in Lahore District Swimming Competition in his age bracket and earned first gold medal of his life in 50m breaststroke.
  • In July 1999, where he was selected in the National Swimming Team of Punjab and competed in the Junior National Swimming competition with 3 gold medals in 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, and 4x100m medley relay.
  • From 1999 to 2003, he continued to win in his respective age groups each year.
  • In 2003, he set the record for 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke which were previously held by Nasir of Army Pakistan swimming team.
  • In October 2003, he took part in the 44th National Swimming Championship held at Islamabad. He was a vital part of the Swimming Team of Punjab Province and he won a gold medal in 50m breaststroke with a timing of 33.65 and a bronze medal in 100m breaststroke with a timing of 1:15.47.
  • He was selected for the Senior National Team of Pakistan which competed in the 9th SAF games held at Islamabad from 2-5 April 2004 where he finished fourth in 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke and won a bronze medal in 4x100m medley relay.
  • In 2005, he was again selected for Pakistan Swimming team to participate in the 1st Islamic Games held at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in April 2005 where he finished 5th in 200m breaststroke and 4th in 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 4x100m medley relay. He set the national record for 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke in this championship.
  • At the 45th National Swimming Championship held at Islamabad in 2005, he won gold medals in 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke, making a national record for 50m breaststroke with a timing of 32.65 which was previously held by Ghulam Muahmmad from Pakistan Army Swimming team since 1972. He also won 2 silver medals in 200m breaststroke and 4x100m medley relay respectively.
  • At the 2005 FINA World Swimming Championships, Aziz participated in 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke where he set new national records for 100m breaststroke and 50m breaststroke.
  • At the 2005 Youth Asian Swimming Championship, he competed in 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 4x100m medley relay where he posted a new national record in every event
  • He took part in 10th SAF Games 2006 held at Colombo where he placed 4th in his events.
  • At the 30th National Games held at Karachi in 2007, he won 2 gold medals in 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke and won 2 silvers in 200m breaststroke and 4x100m medley relay
  • He participated in 1st South Asia Swimming and Water polo Championship held at Islamabad in 2007 and won 3 silver medals in 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke respectively, setting a new National Record in the first two events
  • At the 48th National Swimming Championship held at Lahore in 2008, he won a gold medal in 50m breaststroke and 3 silver medals in 100m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke and 4x100m medley relay respectively.
  • At the 49th National Swimming Championship in 2009, he won 2 gold medals in 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke and 2 silver medals in 200m breaststroke and 4x100m medley relay.
  • He won a silver medal in 50m breaststroke at 11th SAF Games held at Dhaka in 2010.
  • At the 2010 31st National Games, he won 2 gold medals in 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke and 2 silver medals in 200m breaststroke and 4x100m medley relay.
