- Abdul Aziz is the Pakistan national record holder for the 50m and 100m breaststroke.
- In 1998, at the age of 10, he participated in Lahore District Swimming Competition in his age bracket and earned first gold medal of his life in 50m breaststroke.

He set the national record for 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke in this championship.
- At the 45th National Swimming Championship held at Islamabad in 2005, he won gold medals in 50m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke, making a national record for 50m breaststroke with a timing of 32.65 which was previously held by Ghulam Muahmmad from Pakistan Army Swimming team since 1972. He also won 2 silver medals in 200m breaststroke and 4x100m medley relay respectively.
- At the 2005 FINA World Swimming Championships, Aziz participated in 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke where he set new national records for 100m breaststroke and 50m breaststroke.
- At the 2005 Youth Asian Swimming Championship, he competed in 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 4x100m medley relay where he posted a new national record in every event
