Chasing the Grizzly
From Openwaterpedia
Chasing the Grizzly is a 15-mile (24.1 km) swim in Flathead Lake in the American state of Montana, first pioneered by a grizzly bear and replicated by a human for the first time when Mark Johnston completed the same course in 2014. It is an annual marathon swim challenge set for early September on Labor Day and is organized by the Flathead Lake Open Water Swimmers and part of the Flathead Lake Open Water Virtual Triple Crown, a virtual open water swimming competition and challenge organized by Mark Johnston of the Flathead Lake Open Water Swimmers in Montana.
