Theresa's Battleship[edit]

Theresa's Battleship completed the 15.5-mile St. Vincent’s Swim Across the Sound marathon swim from Port Jefferson, Long Island, to Captain’s Cove in Bridgeport to raise money for individuals and families battling cancer on 2 August 2016 under the contingency plan. Theresa’s Battleship raised US$13,160 to provide financial support and care for the needs that health insurance companies do not cover for cancer patients. The team was in the Never Alone category where two of the relay swimmers take turns swimming side-by-side at the same time, representing the concept that one is never alone when you are fighting cancer.
