Carole Laporte is a 40-year-old open water swimmer, ice swimmer, and a teacher at St Ninian’s High School from France.

Open Water Swimming Career

she swam with Jim Boucher, Mark Gorry and Rory Fitzgerald in an unprecedented 50 km crossing between the Isle of Man to the Irish coast on June 2011. The Isle of Man is located in the Irish Sea between the islands of Great Britain and Ireland where the four-person team took to the 10-11°C (50-51.8°F) waters in one-hour segments strictly following the traditional English Channel rules.
she completed the 4th Eastern Bay Invitational International Ice Mile Swim in Lough Dan Scout Centre, County Wicklow, south of Dublin, Ireland on 6 February 2016 in 26:45.
she participated in a 69.7 km relay with Olive Conroy (Ireland), Conor Turner (Ireland), Elina Makïnen (Finland), Anna-Carin Nordin (Sweden), Rory Fitzgerald (Ireland) from the Isle of Man to Northern Ireland on 17-18 June 2017 under the direction of Pádraig Mallon of Infinity Channel Swimming and Piloting Services.
she completed an Ice Mile in the Cringle Reservoir in the Isle of Man under the auspices event co-ordinator Nigel Hendy, Debbie Wignall, Sarah Hickey, and IISA observers Rory Fitzgerald and Kate Steels-Fryatt on 18 February 2017
