Carlos Larriera is an Honour Swimmer from Argentina who was inducted in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame in 1969.

Open Water Swimming Career Highlights
- Larriera planned and help organize the inaugural Maratón Acuática Internacional Santa Fe - Coronda together with Werfill Castro, Dermidio Cabral López and Adolfo Marionias.
- Larriera won the first and second professional 57 km (35-mile) Maratón Acuática Internacional Santa Fe - Coronda (then called the Maratón Fluvial del Litoral Argentino) down the Coronda river in Argentina, 89 km, in 8 hours in 1961 and in 11 hours 38 minutes in 1962.
- Larriera was fourth in the 1963 edition and fifth in the 1965 edition in 10 hours 47 minutes.
- Larriera finished second in the 32 km (20-mile) Traversée Internationale du lac St-Jean professional race in 9 hours 53 minutes in 1960 in Quebec, Canada.
- Larriera was a member and a 1964 vice president of the World Professional Marathon Swimming Federation.
- His son, Alejandro Larriera, was also a professional marathon swimmer who was the first person to complete an upstream swim along the 57 km (35-mile) Maratón Acuática Internacional Santa Fe - Coronda course.
- Larriera finished third in the 1958 36 km Maratona del Golfo Capri-Napoli (Capri-Napoli International Swimming Crossing Competition) in Italy.
- Larria won in February 1957 the Maratón Tigre – Puerto Nuevo. (Open water Argentine championship), 34 km in 8 hours 58 minutes.
- Larria won in March 1958 the Maratón del Río de la Plata (Open water Argentine championship), 42 km in 10 hours 38 minutes.
- Larria was fourth in August 1962 the Trois Riviere (Canada), 16 km in 4 hours 35 minutes.
- Larria was second in October 1964 the Alexandria Marathon (Egypt), 40 km in 10 hours 28 minutes.
- Larria was fourth in March 1965 Maratón Hernandarias-Paraná (Argentina)

Maratón Acuática Internacional Santa Fe - Coronda is a FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix race of 57 km. It is part of a year-round global series of professional marathon swims organized by FINA, ranging from 15 to 88 kilometers in length, held in countries such as Argentina, Italy, Serbia, Macedonia, Canada and Mexico.
