Carl Yates is an American open water swimmer from California who was a member of The Sanfranciscans relay team that won the 1974 Maui Channel Swim between Lanai and Maui in Hawaii with Alex Shestakov, Joel Wilson, Rich Glass, Bob Roper, Carl Yates, and Denis Rice in 3 hours 36 minutes.
