Capri Djatiasmoro

Capri Djatiasmoro is a 63-year-old American open water swimmer and ice swimmer from New York City who swims year-round outdoors. As a member of CIBBOWS, she is a Project Manager with M&J Edelman & Associates. The daughter of an Indonesian diplomat and a French-German mother, Djatiasmoro spent her childhood in more than a half-dozen cities around the globe. Her first name comes from the words se djati, meaning truth, and asmoro, meaning love.
Open water swimming career
- she has participated in the Brooklyn Bridge Swim, Great Hudson River Swim, Liberty Island Swim, Governors Island Swim, Little Red Lighthouse Swim, Stars & Stripes Swim, Ederle Swim, Park to Park Swim, Cove to Cove Swim, John Daly Sr. Ocean Swim, and Ken Killian Ocean as well as a number of triathlons
- she was recognized with a Hudsie Award in 2012 by NYC Swim
- she took photographs at many swims including Alan Morrison's unprecedented breaststroke swim from Sandy Hook to Coney Island
- she competed in 2014 8 Bridges Hudson River Swim in New York
- she completed the 2014 Manhattan Island Marathon Swim in Group 3 in 10 hours 59 minutes on 12 July 2014
- she completed the Brooklyn Marathon Swim on 7 September 2015
- she competed in the 2016 United States Winter Swimming Association National Championships in the 200m freestyle on 30 January in New York City in 1.2°C (34.3°F) water of the La Marina venue in the Hudson River
- she participated in the Tyumen Open Cup / 2014 Winter Swimming Competition in Tyumen, Russia and won a total of 4 medals including 2 silver medals and 2 bronze medals while competing in the 25m breaststroke, 25m freestyle, 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle
- she competed at the 2015 United States Winter Swimming Championships in Lake Memphremagog, Vermont on 21-22 February.
- she has volunteered for dozens of open water swimming events for NYC Swim and CIBBOWS since serving as a boat observer for Steven Klugman's victorious swim in the 2003 Manhattan Island Marathon Swim
- she competed in the 2016 World Winter Swimming Championships in Tyumen, Siberia, Russia
- completed the 15.7-mile (25.2 km) Stage 6 of the 2016 8 Bridges Hudson River Swim in New York in 6 hours 1 minute
- she crewed for R. Cristian Vergara on his 38-mile (61 km) circumnavigation swim attempt around Easter Island on 29-30 November 2016 that ended in 26 hours 52 minutes.
- she competed in International Winter Swimming Association World Cup events in Jelgava, Latvia.
- she medaled in the 450 meters at 0°C in the Winter Swimming World Championships in Tyumen, Siberia, Russia in 2016.
- she swum at high-altitude (12,000 feet) in the world’s highest navigable lake, [[Lake Titicaca[[ in Bolivia.

- She serves as the Chairman for the Board of Directors of the Coney Island Polar Bear Club, the Coney Island Brighton Beach Open Water Swimmers (CIBBOWS) and the United States Winter Swimming Association (USWSA).
- She serves as the Chairman for the Board of Directors of the Coney Island Brighton Beach Open Water Swimmers (CIBBOWS).
- She serves as the Chairman for the Board of Directors of the United States Winter Swimming Association (USWSA).
- She is a race director, helping to organize events for the Coney Island Polar Bear Club, Coney Island Brighton Beach Open Water Swimmers, and the United States Winter Swimming Association including weekly club events and the annual New Year's Day Polar Bear Plunge.
- she crewed on many marathon swims including Alan Morrison’s 17-mile breaststroke Rose Pitonof Swim with Urban Swim and Cristian Vergara’s Easter Island/Rapa Nui circumnavigation attempt.
