2016 CSCAA National Collegiate Open Water Swimming Championships in Kansas

noun - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) is the oldest coaches association in the United States of America, founded in 1922. Presently, the CSCAA boasts more than 2,000 member coaches and assistant coaches, recognizes All-American swimmers, NCAA record-breakers and Scholar All-America athletes and teams as well as outstanding coaches and contributors, and helps oversee the welfare of collegiate swimming and diving.

It is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming at the collegiate level.

Objective

In cooperation with its sister organizations – USA Swimming, the American Swimming Coaches Association, United States Masters Swimming and the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association – the CSCAA is dedicated to promoting the benefits of the sport of swimming at all levels and throughout the life cycle.

The CSCAA recognizes outstanding achievements by coaches and swimmers; promotes communication and cooperation both within the sport of swimming and with its fellow Olympic sports; protects, promotes and seeks to expand competitive intercollegiate swimming programs; recommends rules and regulations to the NCAA; sponsors events; certifies new coaches; provides ongoing educational and leadership training for coaches and athletes; and serves as a source of information to its membership and for the general public.

Open Water Swimming

On 17 September 2016, the CSCAA will hold its first national collegiate open water swimming competition, called the CSCAA National Collegiate Open Water Swimming Championships, a 5 km race in Lone Star Lake near Lawrence, Kansas.
