Bruno Nopponen is a swimming coach and an open water swimmer from Estonia.
Open Water Swimming Highlights
- He finished 2nd in the 4x25m freestyle relay at the 13th Winter Swimming World Championships in Lake Bled, Slovenia on 28 January 2023 with Artur Ulmas, Kristiina Arusoo, and Wade Stokes.
- On 27 January 2023, he finished 7th in the 50m freestyle at the 2023 Winter Swimming World Championships in Lake Bled, Slovenia.
- On 25 January 2023, he finished 7th in the 100m freestyle at the 2023 Winter Swimming World Championships in Lake Bled, Slovenia.
- he became the first person to swim the 55 km (34 miles) from the Porkkala Peninsula in Finland to the Suurupi Peninsula in Estonia, across the Gulf of Finland. He finished in 19 hours 13 minutes in water that ranged between 15-17°C.
- he crossed the 27 km Irbe Strait (called Kura kurk in Estonian and Irbes jūras šaurums in Latvian).
- In 2007, he also swam 57 km downstream in the Emajogi River from Vortsjarv, the second largest lake of Estonia, to Tartu, the cultural and intellectual center of Estonia, in 11 hours.

- he won the men's 200m freestyle in the 40-44 year age group at the 2016 Winter World Swimming Championships in Tyumen, Russia.
