Bridgette Hobart Janeczko was voted as the 2015 World Open Water Swimming Woman of the Year

Bridgette Hobart Janeczko is a 52-year-old American open water swimmer and open water swim race director from Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey who was voted as the 2015 World Open Water Swimming Woman of the Year and received the Barra Award for the most impressive year of marathon swimming by the Marathon Swimmers Federation in 2015. She completed the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming and the Grand Slam of Open Water Swimming in 2014.

• She became the 102nd person in history to achieve the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.
• She is a member of the 24-hour Club.
• She is a member of the Catalina Channel Half Century Club for her 2012 crossing of the Catalina Channel in 11 hours 26 minutes at the age of 50 under the auspices of the Catalina Channel Swimming Federation.

New York Finger Lake Swims

Hobart completed the Nazareth College Finger Lakes Challenge (or The 5 Majors & The 4 Minors Swimming for a Cause), an 9-stage 156-mile solo swim, starting on 11 July and ending on 26 September 2015. Her course included two challenges within the New York Finger Lakes: the Majors and the Minors. The Majors includes the lakes over 11 miles, ranging from 15.5 to 48 miles each with Canandaigua, Keuka, and Skaneateles in July and 48-mile Cayuga Lake and 48-mile Seneca Lake in August. The 4 Minors includes the lakes under 11 miles that she crossed over the weekends in September 2015.

Race Directorship

Hobart is the race director for the Lake Hopatcong Open Water Swim Festival, a charity swim held annually in September and founded on 8 September 2009, and the 2-day Finger Lakes Open Water Swim Festival held on Seneca Lake in New York.
