Brett Fraser
Brett Fraser is a world-class pool and open water swimmer from the Cayman Islands. He is a 13-time NCAA All-American, a 4-time All-SEC Selection, and a 2008 Olympian, competing in Beijing for the Cayman Islands in the 100 and 200-meter backstroke.
Fraser swam for Cayman at the 2009 FINA World Swimming Championships in Rome where he placed 19th in the 100 free (48.56), 24th in the 200 free (1:48.18) and 45th in the 50 free (22.80). He was a member of the SEC Champion 800 free relay in 2009-10 swimming for the University of Florida Gators. He medaled numerous times at CARIFTA games and currently holds the CARIFTA 200 back record for the men’s 15-17 age group. He was also a qualifier in three events at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
He has raced in the Flowers Sea Swim over 8 times (2001-2010) and has won twice (in 2006 and 2007). He placed 2nd in 2009.
He is the brother of Shaune Fraser.
