Brad Kearns
Brad Kearns is a 51-year-old American from Auburn, California. He is noted speaker, author and coach in the health and fitness world for over two decades. During his 9-year career as a triathlete, he was one of the world's top ranked professionals, amassing 30 wins worldwide on the professional circuit.

Triathlon Career
Kearns' triathlon career highlights include a streak of seven victories in a row, a world duathlon series championship, and two national triathlon championships and a #3 world ranking in 1991. Brad is the last American professional male in to place in the top-5 in the ITU World Championships (1992) and still holds the Hawaii Ironman 24 & under age division American record at 8 hours 57 minutes (1989).
Primal Blueprint
Kearns works with Mark Sisson on a comprehensive lifestyle movement called the Primal Blueprint. He is the President of Primal Blueprint Publishing, helped develop the Primal Health Coach certification program, has delivered nearly 30 Primal lifestyle seminars across the USA, and organized and presented at nine "PrimalCon" health and fitness retreats around the world from 2010-2014. He and Sisson authored the 2016 release, Primal Endurance, a comprehensive guidebook on how to escape the carbohydrate-dependent, overly stressful conventional approach to training in favor of a healthier, stress-balanced, fat-adapted primal approach.

Running School
Kearns is the Founder and Executive Director of a non-profit organization promoting cardiovascular fitness for kids called Running School. The organization conducts events on campus at partner schools in Northern California and Nevada, tracking students' aerobic conditioning results against national standards and helping kids make healthy lifestyle choices and develop positive attitudes towards competition. Running School kids have achieved remarkable results in the organization's short history, developing fitness levels far exceeding the statewide standard - a hands-on, grassroots success story in the battle against childhood obesity.

Kearns founded an employee wellness program (1999-2002) at Interwoven, Inc., a Silicon Valley software company, was lauded in leading publications like the San Francisco Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News, Investors Business Daily and on television in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as syndicated Asian television.

Running Career
His endurance career began at Taft High School in Woodland Hills, California, where he ran a 4:19 mile, placing 9th in the California State High School Championships. At age 16, he was a finalist at 1500 meters at the National Junior Olympics, and ranked 12th in the US in his age group. He also placed 17th in the National Junior Olympics cross country finals and 5th in the Los Angeles City cross country finals, setting a Taft High school record that held for 18 years. His 15:24 time on the grueling 2.9-mile Los Angeles city championship course at Pierce College still ranks in the top-60 all-time for LA city athletes.
He ran cross country briefly for UC Santa Barbara, placing 37th in the 1982 Pacific Coast Athletic Association conference cross country championships as a freshman before a string of injuries and illness prompted him to switch to multisport training. In his first year of competitive cycling for the UCSB team, he won the 1984 California state intercollegiate cycling championship in the novice division 10-mile time-trial in a time of 24:25. Brad graduated UCSB in 1985 with a BA with Honors in Business/Economics major. He minored in overuse injuries and surfing.
In 2012, he attained a lifetime best high jump of 5'6" (1.68 meters). In 2016, at age 51, Brad cleared 5'5" (1.65m) and 5'4" (1.63). 5'5" (1.65m). These heights would rank in the top 10 for USA Masters Track & Field athletes, and in the top 50 for 50-54 athletes globally (2015 season rankings). Brad has also clocked times of 13.0 for 100 meters and ran 400-meters in the 50s, in his 50s.
