The Ocean City Swim Club / Bacharach Rehabilitation Hospital Swimming and Paddling Unified Team Program was nominated for the 2013 World Open Water Swimming Offering of the Year award. Its nomination reads,

For those unwilling to accept just being an observer on shore, the program brings together ocean lifeguards, triathletes and swimmers of all ages and abilities to help those with spinal cord injuries learn how to train and race through swimming and surf lifesaving-inspired sports.
