Traditionally, the workout's main set can include 50x100 (half century swim) or even 100x100 (century swim).

Black Wednesday was first coined by Katie Rowe in Long Beach, California circa 2014. The genesis of Black Wednesday comes from Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, a well-publicized shopping day that kicks off the American Christmas shopping season.
