Biwako・Nagahama Open Water Swimming

The Fifth Annual Biwako・Nagahama Open Water Swimming is a 5 km competition held on 19 August 2018 at Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture. Organized by the Japan Swimming Federation, the national federation for aquatics in Japan, it is part of the 2018 Japan Open Water Swimming Circuit Series, a 14-race series of races held throughout Japan.

Race 3: 5 km 5th Annual Nanki Tanabe・Ogigahama Open Water Swimming on 24 June at Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture
Race 4: 5 km Akune Open Water Swimming on 1 July at Akune City, Kagoshima Prefecture
Race 5: 5 km 6th Annual World Heritage Yakushima Open Water Swimming on 7 July at Yakushima Village, Kagoshima Prefecture
Race 6: 5 km 22nd Annual Tateyama Open Water Swimming Festival on 15-16 July at Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture
Race 7: 5 km Open Water Swimming Mie Open Owase on 29 July at Owase City, Mie Prefecture
Race 8: 5 km Sado Open Water Swimming on 5 August at Sado City, Niigata Prefecture
Race 9: 5 km Kamaishi Open Water Swimming Nebama on 5 August at Kamaishi City, Iwate Prefecture
Race 10: 5 km 5th Annual Biwako・Nagahama Open Water Swimming on 19 August at Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture
Race 11: 3.2 km 12th Annual Himeji Ieshima Open Water Swimming on 25-26 August in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture
Race 12: 10 km 15th Annual Shonan Open Water Swimming on 1-2 September at Zushi City ・Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture
Race 13: 5 km Setouchi Open Water Swimming in Shibukawa on 30 September at Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture
Race 14: 5 km Susaki Open Water Swimming on 1 October in Susaki City, Kochi Prefecture

  • 5 km 73rd annual National Sports Festival Swimming Competition on 12 September in Wakaso Village, Fukui Prefecture
  • 10 km 94th annual Japanese National Swimming Championships on 23 September on Hojo Coast in Tateyama City, Chiba Prefecture run concurrently with the 18th annual FINA World Championships Japanese Selection Race and the 2019 Australian National Open Water Swimming Championships Japanese Selection Race
