William Stein

Bill Stein MBE (died 14 August 2020) was a disabled swimmer from Scotland.

Open Water Swimming Highlights

Even though he was unsuccessful in his first England-to-France English Channel attempt, he received the Van Audenaerde Cup in 1978 by the Channel Swimming Association for Greatest Feat of Endurance of the Year.
On 29 August 1979, he completed a 33.5 km crossing of the English Channel from England to France in 16 hours 9 minutes and received a Special Award to a Disabled Swimmer by the Channel Swimming Association.
In 1996, he received a MBE for his service to the sport of swimming.
