Bike the Kingdom

Bike the Kingdom is part of the Kingdom Games, a series of running, biking, open water swimming, triathlon and kayaking events in a number of scenic venues throughout the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada. The events are organized by Kingdom Games Director Phil White. Its headquarters is located at The Clubhous in Derby, Vermont.

Kingdom Games Scope

The Kingdom Games organizes 38 days of sporting activities covering 1450 miles of running, biking, open water swimming, triathlon and kayaking courses.

Kingdom Games Participation

The Kingdom Games attracts thousands of participants, their friends and families from 36 different American states, five Canadian provinces, Mexico, Great Britain, and as far away as Mumbai, India.

Northeast Kingdom of Vermont

The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont is one of the most beautiful areas of the United States. It was one of the very first geo-tourism areas in the world specially designated by National Geographic Society.

Character

Each event has a distinct character of its own that has grown organically over the years.

  • The Dandelion Run, dedicated to a 15-year-old murder victim, features fiddlers and guitar pickers at every relay station and the celebration of the dandelions.
  • The Tour de Kingdom features a Saturday morning parade through town, the nightly dinners at “Ihe Long Tables of Newport and Derby,” and the weekend’s timed event a distinctive Double Century Challenge.
  • Kingdom Swim features a gorgeous venue and its Pet and Swimmers Parade down Main Street the night before.
  • Kingdom Triathlon features its theme of antidiscrimination of swimmers.
  • The Fall Foliage Tour features its signature international ride around Lake Memphremagog during the height of fall foliage.
