Benson Huggard was an American marathon swimmer and policeman from New York whose nickname was Deuce.
Open Water Swimming Highlights
- He completed a successful English Channel swim on 15 September 1971 in 15 hours 10 minutes from England to France. In 1974, he was a member of a two-way relay that swam from France to England and back.
- He swam for 29 hours 25 minutes in an attempt to swim from Sombrero Key in the Florida Keys to Freeport in the Bahamas in a shark cage that was described as the The Drift of the Century, a 173-mile attempt.
- He competed in the 1969 24 Heures La Tuque relay in Quebec, Canada.
- He competed in the 42.9 km America's Marathon Swim in Newport, Rhode Island, a professional marathon swim, at the age of 32 on 9 August 1970.
