Athanasios Kynigakis

Athanasios Kynigakis (born 21 August 1998) is a 22-year-old Greek pool swimmer and Olympic open water swimmer.
Open Water Swimming Highlights
- On 23 May 2019, he finished 2nd the 10 km LEN Open Water Cup in Lac du Causse in Brive, France.
- He finished 2nd in the 2021 FINA Olympic Marathon Swim Qualifier in 2:02:13.10 in Parque Urbano de Albarquel in Setúbal Bay, Portugal to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics on 20 June 2021 at the age of 22.
- On 13 March 2021, he finished 12th in the 10 km in 1:52:21.90 at the FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series in Qatar at the age of 22.
- On 15 February 2020, he finished 29th in the 10 km in 1:50:11.70 at the FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series in Qatar at the age of 21.
- On 16 July 2019, he finished 13th in the 10 km in 1:48:15.40 at the 18th FINA World Championships in South Korea at the age of 20.
- On 15 June 2019, he finished 4th in the 10 km in 1:50:24.00 at the FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series in Lake Balaton, Hungary at the age of 20.
- On 16 February 2019, he finished 33rd in the 10 km in 1:53:23.00 at the FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series in Qatar at the age of 20.
- On 5 August 2021, he finished 5th in the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim in Odaiba Marine Park in Tokyo Bay at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
