Assateague Island National Seashore is a protected area on a long barrier island off the coast of the states of Maryland and Virginia. It is known for its Atlantic beaches and for trails that wind through marshland, dunes and pine forest.
Honors
It was named one of the 10 best beaches located within United States national parks by National Geographic Magazine in 2019.
