Asao Tokolo

Asao Tokolo is a 46-year-old artist and an architecture graduate of Zokyo Zokei University where he studied architecture. His design was chosen among 15,000 entries for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games logo

His winning entry includes a puzzle of 45 interconnecting pieces, the colour indigo used to express a refined elegance and sophistication that exemplifies Japan.
