The first successful all-women Tsugaru Channel women's relay team

Asano is a Japanese open water swimmer who successfully crossed the Tsugaru Channel from Honshu to Hokkaido in northern Japan on 21 August 2014 in the first all-women relay team. The team of Asano, Abe, Inoue, Kataoka, and Takahashi completed the 39 km crossing in 13 hours 44 minutes, escorted by Captain Mizushima, supported by Ocean Navi and sanctioned by the Tsugaru Channel Swimming Association.
