Arik Thormahlen

Arik Thormahlen is a 41-year-old American open water swimmer, photographer, support crew and escort kayaker from New York who competed in the 2015 United States Winter Swimming Championships in Lake Memphremagog, Vermont.
Open Water Swimming Career
- On 30 January 2016, he competed in the 2016 United States Winter Swimming Association National Championships in the 200m freestyle in New York City in 1.2°C (34.3°F) water of the La Marina venue in the Hudson River.
- On 5-6 March 2016, he competed in the 2nd annual Memphremagog Winter Swim Festival in Lake Memphremagog, Vermont.
- he participated in the Ice Swimming Expedition in northern Norway in March 2017.
- On 28-29 July 2017, he was an escort kayaker for the inaugural 91.6 km 40 Bridges - Double Manhattan Island Swim.
- He participated in the Memphremagog Winter Swim Festival in Lake Memphremagog, Vermont on 23-25 February 2018, finishing 2nd in the 50m freestyle.
