Applegate Lake Open Water Weekend
The Applegate Lake Open Water Weekend is held at Applegate Lake in Jacksonville, Oregon. It is part of the 2013 Oregon Open Water Series and 2018 Oregon Swimcation. The Applegate Lake Open Water Weekend is on 13-14 July 2013 where the 3x500m Pursuit Sprint Relay, 1.5 km, 2.5 km, 5 km, and 10 km races are hosted by the Rogue Valley Masters.

Venue
Applegate Lake is located in the heart of the Siskiyou Mountains in southwestern Oregon.
Course
The course consists of multiple 2.5 km loops depending on the race. Water temperature on race day has varied from 70-74ºF (21-23ºC).
All swims start in the water and finish on the beach near the water’s edge. Each 2.5 km loop roughly follows the contours of the lake shore on the way out and is approximately a straight line back to the start/finish area.
Feeding Station
The 5 km and 10 km swimmers provide their own beverages which will be placed on a table in 4-foot deep water near the starting line.
Time Limit
Swimmers who cannot complete the 10 km in 4.5 hours or the 5 km in 2.5 hours should not enter; swimmers on the course after these time limits may be stopped and listed as DNF in the results.

Oregon Open Water Series
All swims count towards the Oregon Open Water Series cumulative season series. The 10 km and the 1.5 km are featured swims (22-18-16-14-12-10-8-6-4-2 points). The 5 km and the 2.5 km swims are qualifying swims (11-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 points.) The relay is a participation swim (7 points). The series includes the following races:
- 1.2 km Bend
- 0.8 km, 2 km, 4 km Hagg Lake in Forest Grove
- 1-mile, 2-mile Foster Lake Cable Swims
- Relay, 1.5 km, 2.5 km, 5 km, and 10 km Applegate
- 17 km Portland Bridge Swim
- 1 km, 1.5 km, 0.5 km, 3 km, 5 km Cascade Lakes Swim Series & Festival at Elk Lake
- 0.5 km, 1 km, 1.5 km Cottage Grove Lake
- 0.5 km, 1.5 km and 3 km in Eel Lake
