Anna Lominadze in the Dardanelles
Anna Lominadze (or Ana Lominadze) is a pool and open water swimmer from Georgia who swims handcuffed, demonstrating an ancient Georgian military-training swimming style that imitates the movement of dolphins. At the age of 17 on 30 August 2012, she became the first woman to swim 5.5 km in 50 minutes across the Dardanelles from a village in the south of the Turkish region of Edzhiabat to the village of Kefez the south of Canakkale, in the ancient Colchis style with her hands and feet tied.
