Amanda Hampton is a 48-year-old Australian marathon swimmer from Sydney who resides in Naperville, Illinois, USA. She is affiliated with the Promontory Point Open Water Swimmers of Chicago
Open Water Swimming Career
- In 2009, she completed the 45.8 km Manhattan Island Marathon Swim in 8 hours 36 minutes in New York City.
- In 2010, she completed the 45.8 km Manhattan Island Marathon Swim in 8 hours 59 minutes in New York City.
- On 5 August 2017, she competed in the 8-mile Boston Light Swim in Massachusetts.
- In 2007, she completed the Bermuda RTS 10K
- In 2008, she completed the Bermuda RTS 10K
- In 2008, she completed the Swim Miami 10K
- In 2008, she completed the Swim Around Key West in Florida.
- In 2010, she completed the Kingdom Swim in Vermont.
- In 2010, she completed the Swim the Suck in Tennessee.
- On 13 July 2013, she completed the 27-mile END-WET in North Dakota.
- She completed the 2014 Extreme North Dakota Watersports Endurance Test or END-WET, a 36-mile (57.9 km) swim down the Red River between North Dakota and East Grand Forks, Minnesota in the United States
- In 2017, she competed in the 2017 Memphremagog Winter Swim Festival
- On 5 September 2015, she completed the 40.2 km In Search of Memphre from Newport, Vermont, USA to Magog, Quebec, Canada in 17 hours 8 minutes.
Winter Swimming
She is a member of the Memphremagog Winter Swimming Society and one of the famed 41 Pioneers. She is helping organize the second annual Memphremagog Winter Swim Festival in March 2016.
