Alon Mandel is a 29-year-old professional pool and open water swimmer from Israel working as an engineer in Colorado.

Swimming Career Highlights[edit]

  • He represented Israel in the 2008 Olympic Games.
  • He was a 4-time NCAA All-American at the University of Michigan between 2007 and 2010.
  • He is the Israel record holder in 50 and 100 meter butterfly.
  • He won the 100 meter butterfly at the 2009 Maccabiah Games.
  • He completed a crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain to Morocco in September 2015 in 4+ hours.
  • He plans a crossing of the Cook Strait in New Zealand in a charity swim to support those who suffer from Parkinson's disease.
  • On 10 August 2014, he completed the 10 km Horsetooth Swim in Colorado in 2 hours 19 minutes 52 seconds.
  • On 23 August 2015, he completed the 10 km Horsetooth Swim in Colorado in 2 hours 17 minutes 14 seconds.
