Ali Weinstein is a Canadian documentary filmmaker from Toronto who released Mermaids in 2017. In 2019, she released the documentary film Engraved on a Nation: The Impossible Swim on TSN Originals about Maya Farrell.

Engraved on a Nation: The Impossible Swim[edit]

Filmmakers Ali Weinstein and Larry Weinstein created a 60-minute documentary film about Maya Farrell's attempt at crossing Lake Ontario.

Engraved on a Nation: The Impossible Swim was first broadcast in Canada on 27 February 2019. The film is described as "...in July 2018, Maya Farrell attempted her second crossing of Lake Ontario, following in the footsteps of great Canadian female marathon swimmers Marilyn Bell and Vicki Keith. Featuring interviews with Bell and Keith, 'The Impossible Swim' explores the legacy, what it takes physically and mentally to be a marathon athlete, and the new rising regime. Produced by Circle Blue Entertainment in association with Bell Media, directed by Larry Weinstein and Ali Weinstein, and produced by Amos Adetuyi and John Booth."
