South London Swimming Club
The South London Swimming Club (SLSC) is a swimming club that hosts the UK Cold Water Swimming Championships in its Tooting Bec Lido in London, England. It was founded in 1906 and has been holding races at Tooting Bec Lido since 1908.
It is a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) that is a volunteer-run club that works to preserve the Tooting Bec Lido to ensure that the pool remains a viable and valued resource within, and for, the community. SLSC encourages more people to take up outdoor and cold water swimming.
UK Cold Water Swimming Championships
The flagship UK Cold Water Swimming Championships event has raised the profile of Tooting Bec Lido and helped to increase membership. This has enabled the SLSC to put funds into the building of a new pavilion at Tooting Bec Lido, due for completion in Spring 2017, which will improve the sustainability of the Lido and create more space for sport in the borough of Wandsworth.
