Roger Bruce is a renowned Australian pool and open water swimming coach.

Coaching Career[edit]

  • Bruce was an Australian swimming coach at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games
  • Bruce coached his daughter at the Rottnest Channel Swim where she set an overall record in the 19.7 km ocean swim in 1992 and the women's record in 1993, a record that still stands today.

Honours[edit]

Bruce was selected as an Australian Team Coach on numerous occasions including the: 2001 FINA World Championships, 2002 Yokohama Pan Pacific Championships, 2004 Athens Olympic Games, 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games and the 2007 FINA World Championships and was honoured by Swimming Western Australia Hall of Fame in 2008.

Australian Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame Class of 2020 Honourees[edit]

He is a member of the inaugural class of Australian Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame honourees who were inducted on August 2020.
