Portavogie is a village, townland and fishing port in County Down, Northern Ireland. It lies within the Borough of Ards and is the easternmost settlement in Ireland.

Open Water Swimming[edit]

A 12-person relay team led by Jack McClelland swam from Portavogie to Peel on the Isle of Man in 1979 to make the first successful crossing across this part of the Irish Sea.
