Photo finish

From Openwaterpedia

noun - A photo finish is a very close races between swimmers at the end of a competition when two or more swimmers touch or cross the finish line at nearly the same time. As the naked eye may not be able to distinguish between which of the competitors finished first, video taken at the finish line may be used for a more accurate check.

Usage[edit]

Video cameras are posted on the finish pontoons at FINA races to enable referees to accurately determine the photo finishes.
