Nikki Pope

Nikki Pope is a 52-year-old British open water swimmer and ice swimmer who is a member of the Half Century Club.

Open Water Swimming Highlights[edit]

  • On 25 June 2019, she completed a 33.5 km crossing of the English Channel from England to France in 18 hours 22 minutes with escort pilots Fred and Harry Mardle and observer Simon Jones for which she received the 2019 Channel Swimming Association Award for the Greatest Feat of Endurance.
  • On 22 January 2018 in Hatfield Outdoor Activity, Great Britain in 3.53° water, he completed an Ice Mile.
  • She has completed 6 Ice Miles to date, 4 of which have counted towards the Ice Sevens:
    • 1st on 22 January 2018 in the Hatfield Outdoor Activity Center, UK in 3.53°C water and 1.80°C air chill, swimming 1.00 miles in 1 hours 24 seconds in a lake.
    • 2nd on 19 January 2019 in the Hatfield Outdoor Activity Center, UK in 4.63°C water and 1.80°C air chill, swimming 1.00 miles in 50 minutes 12 seconds in a lake.
    • 3rd on 9 February 2019 in the Hatfield Outdoor Activity Center, UK in 4.53°C water, swimming 1.00 miles in 46 minutes 25 seconds in a lake.
    • 4th on 20 November 2019 in the Jack Darling Memorial Park in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada in 4.50°C water, swimming 1.06 miles in 42 minutes 41 seconds in a lake.
    • 5th on 31 January 2020 in the Aguelmam Azegza, Knedfra, Morocco in 4.77°C water and 1.40°C air chill, swimming 1.00 miles in 44 minutes 43 seconds in a lake in the Mid Atlas Mountains.
    • 6th on 19 February 2020 in the Grunnfjord Tromso, Norway in 3.80°C water and -9.00°C air chill, swimming 1.00 miles in 39 minutes 43 seconds in a fjord fed by ocean and mountain water.
