Absolutely! The biography of Harry Briggs, Ph.D.

Letitia Sweitzer M.Ed. is retired teacher and freelance writer, life coach and speaker on writing and ADHD. She is the author of Absolutely!, the memoirs of Dr. Harry Briggs, known as the The Paddlin' Professor and an Honor Swimmer in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame.

Writing Career[edit]

  • She has written many articles and books as a freelance ghostwriter.
  • She authored The Elephant in the ADHD Room: Beating Boredom As the Secret to Managing ADHD.

Harry Briggs[edit]

Dr. Briggs was the first to swim from Corsica to Sardinia in 1955 and was the first to complete a swim across Lake Erie from Sandusky, Ohio, USA to Point Pelee, Ontario, Canada in 1957 in 35 hours 55 minutes. A political science instructor known as The Paddlin’ Professor, he became the first person to swim 58 km across Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, USA. Dr. Briggs completed 43 marathon swims over the course of his career. At the age of 76, he swam 16 km across Lake Sunapee as a fundraiser and continued to do fundraising open water swims into his 90s.
