Laura Colette is an American open water swimmer from San Jose, California.

Open Water Swimming Highlights[edit]

  • On 5 August 2000, she competed in the 10 km Capitola Santa Cruz Pier‑to‑Pier Swim from Capitola Beach to Cowell Beach in northern California.
  • On 25 August 2001, she competed in the 10 km USMS National Championships in Eagle Creek Reservoir, Indiana.
  • On 1 September 2001, she completed a 15.9 km crossing of the Maui Channel from Club Lanai on Lanai to Kaanapali Beach on Maui.
  • In April 2002, she completed the 24-mile Tampa Bay Marathon Swim in Florida in 13 hours 20 minutes at the age of 38.
  • In April 2003, she competed in the 24-mile Tampa Bay Marathon Swim in Florida in 13 hours 20 minutes at the age of 39.
  • She is a member of the Nefarious Sunrisers of the South End Rowing Club.
  • On 20 September 2003, she completed the first north-to-south 20.53-mile crossing of Lake Tahoe from Camp Richardson to Kings Beach in 12 hours 36 minutes at the age of 39.
  • On 1 July 2004, she completed a 21.24-mile crossing of Lake Tahoe from Hyatt Beach to Camp Richardson in 12 hours 2 minutes.
  • On 17 August 2003, she completed the 21-mile (33.7 km) BLDSA 2 Way Windermere Championship (2WW) in 11 hours 40 minutes 54 seconds.
  • On 31 July 2004, she completed a 22-mile solo crossing of Loch Lomond in Scotland in 11 hours 26 minutes 48 seconds.
  • On 27 September 2004, she crossed the 33.5 km English Channel from England to France in 14 hours 29 minutes under the escort of pilot Michael Oram under the auspices of the Channel Swimming & Piloting Federation at the age of 40.
