Klaus Pechstein was an Austrian open water swimmer from Linz who attempted to swim along the 1,231 km length of the River Rhine from Switzerland to the Netherlands in 1969. He was forced to abandon his attempt when he reached Rotterdam.

We also attempted to cross the Arctic Sea alone in a small kayak in order to prove that mankind had discovered the American continent earlier than the Vikings.
