Kirsten Read is an American open water swimmer and head of KGR Coaching from Maine. At the age 40, she began open water swimming and lives in Kennebunk, Maine where she swims for Great Bay Masters.

Coaching Career[edit]

Read is a USMS Levels 1 & 2 Certified Masters Coach who grew up in Northampton, Massachusetts and went on to swim at Brown University.

Open Water Swimming Career[edit]

She won the 2.3-mile Peaks to Portland Swim, locally called P2P, one of the most well-known open water swimming races in the Northeast U.S.A. The cold-water ocean swim is held in mid-July in Portland, Maine and is sponsored and organized by the Cumberland County YMCA. She also won the Nubble Light Challenge.
