Kimberly Plewa (born January 19) is a 36-year-old American open water swimmer from Rahway, New Jersey.

Open Water Swimming Career[edit]

  • She crossed the Strait of Gibraltar on 3 May 2012 in a time of 4 hours 35 minutes together with Michelle Nelson
  • She participated in the 15.1-mile Cape Circumnavigation Challenge around Cape May, New Jersey organized by Jason Malick and sanctioned by the World Open Water Swimming Association
  • She attempted the 2009 Boston Light Swim in August.
  • On 30 May 2009, she finished 4th in the 11.5 Potomac River Swim from Virginia to Maryland in 4 hours 35 minutes at the age of 26.
  • On 18 October 2009, she finished 22nd in the Bermuda Round The Sound 10 km swim in Bermuda in 3 hours 52 seconds at the age of 26.
  • On 12 June 2010, she finished 10th in the 20.1 km FKCC Swim Around Key West in Florida in 5 hours 33 minutes 12 seconds.
  • On 24 July 2010, she finished 30th in the 16.1 Kingdom Swim in Lake Memphremagog in Vermont in 5 hours 4 minutes 24 seconds at the age of 27.
  • On 10 July 2011, she finished 5th in the 21.2 km 8 Bridges Hudson River Swim in New York in 5 hours 2 minutes 32 seconds at the age of 28.
  • On 25 August 2012, she finished 18th in the Lake George 10K swim in New York in 3 hours 12 minutes 57 seconds at the age of 29.
  • On 6 July 2013, she finished 39th in the 16.1 km Kingdom Swim in Lake Memphremagog, Vermont in 5 hours 48 minutes 28 seconds at the age of 30.
  • On 21 September 2014, she finished 15th in the 19.3 km Swim Around Charleston in South Carolina in 5 hours 32 minutes 3 seconds at the age of 31.
  • On 19 April 2015, she finished 37th in the 10 km Swim Miami in Miami, Florida in 2 hours 55 minutes 39 seconds at the age of 32.
  • On 18 July 2015, she finished 12th in the 14.5 km Swim Ocean City in New Jersey in 4 hours 6 minutes 34 seconds at the age of 32.
  • On 1 August 2015, she finished 5th in the 30 km Three Rivers Marathon Swim in Pennsylvania in 10 hours 16 minutes 34 seconds at the age of 32.
  • On 26 June 2016, she finished 8th in the 29.5 km 8 Bridges Hudson River Swim in New York in 6 hours 5 minutes 8 seconds at the age of 33.
  • On 6 November 2016, she finished 17th in the Barbados 10K Swim in Carlisle Bay in 3 hours 6 minutes 54 seconds at the age of 33.
  • On 22 April 2017, she finished 7th in the 11.2 km Swim Around Lido Key in Florida in 3 hours 23 minutes 8 seconds at the age of 34.
  • On 26 August 2017, she finished 21st in the Lake George 10K in New York in 3 hours 10 minutes 2 seconds at the age of 34.
  • On 23 September 2017, she finished 8th in the Finger Lakes Open Water Festival in New York in 5 hours 34 minutes at the age of 34.
  • On 14 October 2017, she finished 39th in the 16.6 km Swim The Suck in Tennessee in 4 hours 11 minutes 2 seconds at the age of 34.
  • On 16 June 2018, she finished 48th in the 20.1 km Swim Around Key West in Florida in 5 hours 40 minutes 53 seconds at the age of 35.
  • On 25 August 2018, she finished 11th in the 45.9 km 20 Bridges Manhattan Island Swim in New York City in 9 hours 26 minutes 15 seconds at the age of 36.
