Horseshoe Lake is a high mountain lake at an elevation of 2,742m (8,996 feet) above the sea level, located in the Mammoth Lakes area of Mono County, in California's Sierra Nevada mountains, USA.

Open Water Swimming[edit]

Horseshoe Lake is the only lake in Mammoth Lakes Basin where high altitude swimming is permitted. The lake is created by melting snow so water levels will vary and the water is cold.
