Winners at the 2012 Speedo 3.5.8 Open Water Swim Masters Series in the Philippines

Rene “Guy” Concepcion, a former national swimmer from the Philippines who represented his country at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games and on the FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup circuit in 2012.

358 Swim

He is the race director for the 358 Swim, a 3 km, 5 km and 8 km open water swimming championship held off the Hamilo Coast at the Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club in Nasugbu, Batangas in the Philippines. The early November race is part of the Philippine Amateur Swimming Association’s bid to promote the fledgling sport among Filipino swimming enthusiasts and part of the Philippine Open Water Swimming (POWS).

"With open swimming now part of the Olympic calendar, this is one way for Philippine Amateur Swimming Association to develop open swimmers who may be able to vie for medals in future Olympic Games," explained Concepcion.
