Graham Johnston is an 84-year-old American pool and open water swimmer and member of the U.S. Masters Swimming, International Swimming Hall of Fame as a masters swimmer in 1998, and International Masters Swimming Hall of Fame in 2000.

Open Water Swimming Career[edit]

He is an age-group winner in the 3 km open water swimming race at the 2013 Pan American Masters Championships in Sarasota, Florida. He also completed a crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar at the age of 74 in 5 hours 9 minutes from Sainar Point on 2 October 2005 to become a member of the Half Century Club. He crossed the Maui Channel and was a member of the Old Men and the Sea Relay, a octogenarian relay group of American open water swimmers who crossed the Catalina Channel on 20 August 2015 in 12 hours 15 minutes from Santa Catalina Island to the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Their relay is nominated for the 2015 World Open Water Swimming Performance of the Year by the [{World Open Water Swimming Association]].
