Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale /ˌfɔərt ˈlɔːdərdeɪl/ (frequently abbreviated as Ft. Lauderdale) is a city in the U.S. state of Florida, on the Atlantic coast 23 miles (37 km) north of Miami. It is the county seat of Broward County. The city is a popular tourist destination, with an average year-round temperature of 75.5 °F (24.2 °C), and 3,000 hours of sunshine per year.
Open Water Swimming
Fort Lauderdale Rough Water Swim (or the ISHOF Rough Water Swim is held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, U.S.A. during the first week of January when many collegiate teams are training in the ISHOF facilities. Organized by the International Swimming Hall of Fame, it is one of America's Top 100 Open Water Swims.

The International Swimming Hall of Fame will host a Conference on Near-Death Experiences while Drowning on 18 August 2017.
