Flathead Lake Swim
The Flathead Lake Swim Series is a two-way, four-race event that consists of a 5 km swim on Friday night, a 10 km point-to-point marathon swim (Flathead Lake 10K) held in Big Arm State Park in Montana.
The top male and female with the best overall combined time for all four events (non-wetsuit) will be deemed the Flathead Lake Monster. Additional overall awards as follows:
- 1-3 male and female wetsuit division
- 1-3 male and female non-wetsuit division
The event is a charity swim with 100% of the proceeds going to the Enduring Waves Foundation. The Enduring Waves Foundation is a Montana 501(c)(3) nonprofit (status pending) that assists Montana children financially with various medical expenses.
2014 Flathead Lake Swim Winners
Male: Mark Johnston in 3 hours 1 minute 34 seconds on 20 July 2014 with a combined time of 5 hours 26 minutes 30 seconds.
Female: Emily von Jentzen with a combined time of 6 hours 39 minutes 14 seconds.
2015 Flathead Lake Swim Winners
Male: Phillip Luebke in 2 hours 35 minutes 6 seconds on 18 July 2015.
Male: Johny Van Velthuyzen with a combined time of 4 hours 22 minutes 37 seconds (including a 2 hour 36 minute 28 second 10 km leg).
Female: Michelle McRae with a combined time of 4 hours 27 minutes 20 seconds.
2016 Flathead Lake Swim Winners
Male: Phillip Luebke in 2 hours 36 minutes 12 seconds on 16 July 2016.
Male: Shawn Pinder with a combined time of 4 hours 29 minutes 23 seconds including a 2 hour 42 minute 13 seconds Flathead Lake 10K.
Female: Emily von Jentzen with a combined time of 5 hours 48 minutes 4 seconds.
