Dogleg

noun - Dogleg is a place where an open water swimming course turns at an angle, sometimes sharply or around a turn buoy or other natural part of the course.

Usage[edit]

The RCP Tiburon Mile takes a dogleg left into the San Francisco Bay right off of Angel Island.
