From Openwaterpedia
Darko Novovic

Novovic is a former Serbian water polo player who completed a 5,450 km stage swim from Peru to Belem, Brazil down the Amazon River in 46 days in 2010. He swam an average of 118 km (73 miles) per day while swimming an average of 16 hours per day in an improvised net cage at a pace of 7.3 km (4.6 miles) per hour - which broke the existing record of the legendary Big River Man, Martin Strel, by 20 days (who did not swim inside a cage).
