Transition from Wool to Nylon

In 1947, Olympic champion Adolph Kiefer developed the nylon tank suit in 1948 and debuted the first nylon swimsuit supplied to the U.S. Olympic Swim Team at the 1948 London Olympics that was a significant improvement over the wool suits and cotton suits available at the time.
