Claire de Boer is an American pool and open water swimmer from Ithaca, New York

Open Water Swimming Highlights

  • She completed a 16-mile crossing of Skaneateles Lake in July 1984.
  • She was the first individual to complete a solo unassisted crossing of the 37.9-mile Cayuga Lake on 13-14 August 1984 in just over 20 hours from the Village of Cayuga to the Treman State Marine Park in Ithaca.
  • She joined Bridgette Hobart on her crossing of Cayuga Lake in 2015 that replicated her 1984 course.
