Chris Layton is a 60-year-old American open water swimmer and a witness for the International Ice Swimming Association.
Open Water Swimming Career
- On 31 July 2008, he completed the 26.2-mile (42.1 km]] Chicago Skyline Swim across Lake Michigan in 12 hours 49 minutes in a tandem swim with David Blanke and Marcia Cleveland.
- He completed a tandem swim across the 12.4-mile Anacapa Channel on 23 July 2011 with Marcia Cleveland from Anacapa Island to Oxnard in 6 hours 0 minutes.
- He was the first male and second overall in the 19.3 km Swim Around Charleston in South Carolina in 4 hours 45 minutes 17 seconds in 2015 at the age of 56.
- He served as a crew member who helped escort Professor Will Dichtel on a record-setting 37.6 km Chicago Skyline Swim in Lake Michigan on 10 August 2020.
