Chalkwell Redcaps is an informal social open water swimming pod that meets regularly at the Crowstone at Chalkwell Beach in the United Kingdom. It has 240 swimming members, a club house and achanging facility situated on the foreshore. The age of our members ranges from 6 to 86 years old who all wear red swim caps.

Open Water Swims[edit]

The Chalkwell Recaps swims throughout the spring and summer months, from April through to October, in organised swim sessions that cater for all abilities. A small group of Redcaps also swim through the winter braving sea temperatures of between 2 and 5 degrees Celsius.
